Why Institutions Are Verified Before They Pay

Institutional registration does not go straight to a payment screen. Here is what happens instead, and why it protects both sides.
Student registration goes directly to payment. Institutional registration does not — and that difference is deliberate.
When a university, college, technical institute or nursing college registers, the account is created and a CBIC ID reserved, but no payment is requested. The registration goes to the CBIC team for document verification first.
What verification involves
- CBIC contacts the focal person named on the registration
- Supporting documents are requested — registration certificates, regulatory approvals, or equivalent evidence
- The team checks that the institution is what it says it is and that the focal person is authorised to act for it
- Only once that is approved does the subscription and payment step appear on the institution's dashboard
Why it works this way
An institutional membership carries obligations in both directions. CBIC arranges on-campus expert sessions, curriculum support and bulk student registration; the institution is representing its students. Neither side benefits from that starting with an unverified card payment.
It also protects the institution. Nobody is asked for money before CBIC has confirmed what the partnership will actually cover.
After approval
Institutional membership is a monthly subscription rather than a one-time fee. Once the first payment is received, CBIC issues a reminder and a payment link before each renewal — by email, and by SMS to the number on the account.
An institution can cancel by written notice before the next renewal date. Access continues to the end of the paid period.
